Meet Dr. Matt Pritchard

Dr. Matt Pritchard, a science magician and Curator of Wonder, captivates audiences with performances that blend inspiration and education. His creativity shines through as he simplifies complex concepts for all to enjoy.

As an independent science communicator, Matt engages with over 100 schools annually, collaborates with universities on outreach initiatives, and partners with organizations like the Science Museum Group and Big Bang fairs. His recent appearances include TEDxBrum and the Science of Magic Association conference. He also contributed to a teaching handbook on science and religion and was featured in the Huffington Post.

Previously, Matt conducted atomic physics research at Durham University, where he earned the Institute of Physics’ Postgraduate Lecturer Award. His stylized research image was even showcased on the cover of The Institute of Physics’ diary. He later worked in the Education department at Thinktank Science Museum in Birmingham.

With 18 years of experience as a professional magician, Matt is an Associate of the Inner Magic Circle, a prestigious title held by only 300 individuals worldwide. He won the Hoffman Memorial competition in 2018 for his essay on the harmony between science and magic.

For your assurance, Matt holds a current DBS disclosure, £10 million in public liability insurance, and conducts thorough risk assessments for his shows. He is a Fellow of the Professional Speaking Association and was a finalist in the national Speaker Factor competition in 2015. Currently, he serves as the regional President for the Midlands.
