Invite a participant to engage in a captivating memory challenge. They can either join you on stage or stand beside you for a close-up experience. If they have a deck of cards, they pull it out, while you never touch them. If not, a deck can be provided. You share intriguing insights about photographic memory claims, emphasizing the extraordinary nature of such a skill.

The participant shuffles the deck thoroughly and stops whenever they choose, keeping the deck in their possession. They then deal the cards face up on the table, allowing for memorization. After the entire deck is laid out, they gather the cards back and hold onto them. You take a moment to share your own unique experiences with memory work.

Next, the participant selects a number between 1 and 52, for instance, 24. After a brief pause, you confidently announce, “24… Three of hearts.” They deal the cards face up until they reach the twenty-third card and stop. You repeat, “24th card… Three of hearts.” When the 24th card is revealed, it is indeed the three of hearts!

As the applause fades, you explain that such skills are not exclusive to you; they are potential abilities within us all, waiting to be unlocked. You encourage the participant, suggesting they too have memorized the deck and possess the potential to create something remarkable.

They are prompted to call out another number between one and fifty-two, choosing 36 this time. You then read their mind without any props or questioning, revealing the card they were thinking of, which turns out to be the seven of clubs. They deal down to the 36th card and pause before turning it over. You pose the question, “Wouldn’t it be amazing if the 36th card you chose was the seven of clubs?” When they reveal the card, it matches perfectly, showcasing their incredible achievement.
