Screen Test by Steve Dimmer utilizes a cleverly simple method that is highly deceptive.

Your spectator receives a selection of classic movie poster postcards, each representing a different film.

While your back is turned, they freely mix and choose one movie, placing the others out of sight.

You then reveal that the chosen movie has a list of all the films in the set written on its back. As they read the list in any order, you attempt to discern their thoughts through vocal cues.

When you realize you aren’t picking up any hints, you suggest they visualize the movie. While still turned away, you accurately reveal the movie they are thinking of.
